X-oom Launches ‘Podcast Studio’ To Create & Publish Podcasts...
X-OOM Software, part of bhv Software GmbH & Co.KG in Germany, a leading developer of digital media software for mobile devices, has announced the launch of its podcasting software Podcast Studio for managing, creating and publishing podcasts online. The new title complements X-OOM’s new range of quality software now available in the UK for owners of mobiles, PSPs, MP3 players and PDAs.
Podcasting is a means of enjoying audio based media files on any portable MP3 player or PC and is one of the fastest growing sensations amongst web users. Much like a radio broadcast, although it is not live, the podcast can be accessed by thousands of listeners anywhere in the world. A podcast is pre-recorded and uploaded onto the Internet by the author where subscribers can then download the show and listen to it from their PC or on an MP3 player at their leisure.
There are thousands of podcasts now available on the internet ranging from ‘newscasts’ and general interest topics including audio books to those that focus on more specific areas like science, technology or music. With Podcast Studio users will be able to manage and subscribe to these podcasts as well as edit and generate their own shows using a microphone on topics of their choice easily and quickly.
With Podcast Studio’s Audio Recorder function, users will be able to record sounds from several sources including microphone, line-in, CD player, telephone etc. Once the content has been downloaded from the web, the Podcast Director and Podcast Manager functions will assist the user to update and manage subscriptions in their podcast library and even create their own. Finally, Podcast Publisher will assist with entering the newly created podcasts onto the various podcast directories for others to access.
Helmut Schmitz, Managing Director at bhv Software GmbH & Co. KG says, “This is a really exciting product at a time when iPod accessories are rapidly moving on from docking stations and speakers. Podcasting and software are the new things and Podcast Studio is a great way of managing podcast content as well as having great fun generating your own shows and publishing them onto the web.”
